Documentary about flashkes family

About: Before experiencing clinical death for about twenty minutes,
my father was a strong, assertive, curious, distant, concise, calculated and cold man (except towards my mother). When he came back to life, he was both present and absent at the same time. He was quiet, sensitive and much older looking. In the five years remaining until his second and final death, he was dependent and useless, and at the same time he was also tender and empathetic, devoid of ego and nonjudgmental, free and even quite easily reduced to tears. It was hard for his immediate surroundings to accept this change, but for me it was like meeting him anew. We flew kites took photographs, painted, got drunk, swam in the sea and went out to the meadow to graze together.
Flashkes is an absurd story based on memories, on a family discussion taking place while the father is dying, and on the open anticipation of his death. It takes place in a miniature model of my childhood home. The characters are carved from wood and marked with the sharp scars of pain, love, longing, and guilt. They are accompanied by the inanimate objects – the pitchers, the cupboards, the chairs, the pictures, the carpets and the walls – all covered in bandages, out of a desire to blur and conceal the scars, while at the same time, making sure the wounds are present, as well as wrapped and healing
